Brady Corbet’s film about a fictional Hungarian architect is already winning awards, not least for its star, Adrien Brody.
I have yet to see it, but it will be interesting to see if modern architecture is presented in a positive way, particularly the style sometimes called Brutalism, which in films is generally associated with totalitarianism and inhumanity eg A Clockwork Orange, or High-Rise.
The Guardian has an article discussing the continuing love-hate relationship people have with modern architecture, particularly when it comes to massive use of concrete. The Dollan Baths are listed as a brutalist gem, which I have some issue with – there are lots of curves, which isn’t usually associated with Brutalism – along with Clifton Cathedral (lots of brick rather than concrete), and the University of East Anglia (used for Marvel Avengers: Age of Ultron).
